This is called Search Engine Optimization, or SEO.

What is a Keyword?:
A keyword is a word or phrase used to describe a topic to a search engine. For instance, if you're searching for "Blogger.com", you'll type that exact phrase into the search engine, making it a keyword. If I wanted to write about this particular platform, I would research the popular search terms associated with Blogger.com and use the most popular keyword several times in my article in hopes of bringing in those using that particular search term.

How Does One Find Keywords?:
If you want to find the keyword, or keywords, to best optimize your blog post, you'll need to research using some of the popular keyword tools. Google Adwords is one such tool, and Overture is another. One of the better tools is Digital Point which shows keyword results between two different keyword tools. Choose the keyword with the highest amount of searches, this is the term most people use when searching for your topic.

I Found a Keyword, Now What?:
Now that you know what keyword or phrase is most popular for your topic, you'll want to use it to create useful content. Write a post that makes sense and try and use the keyword in the title and several times throughout the post. In fact, a visitor will know in the first 30 seconds whether or not she or he finds your blog interesting enough to stay. There are several factors to consider when keeping folks interested in your blog. One of the most important is how to make a good first impression.

Create an Eye-Pleasing Design:
Keep your blog clean and uncluttered. Too many obtrusive ads and blinking widgets can be a turnoff. Visitors should be able to find the sections they want at a glance. Your contact information, your "About Me" page, the different categories and your blogroll should appear in plain view in your sidebar and not hidden by quizzes, polls and buttons.

Create Catchy Titles and Great Opening Paragraphs:
While it's important a title is optimized for search, you also want to be able to draw your readers in. Your title should give a clue of what's in store. Confusing or cutesy titles don't always go over too well.

Your opening paragraph should also draw people in. If the first sentence rambles or doesn't create an interest, your readers will most likely disappear. Draw them in with your title and first paragraph and they're likely to stay until the bottom line.

There's no better way to make a good first impression than with engaging, friendly content. Writing for the web is for shorter attention spans. Your posts should be to the point, but you should also write with the community in mind. Engage your readers. Ask questions and encourage comments.

Respond to Your Comments:
No one wants to attend a dull party. Comments encourage more comments. If your readers know you'll respond, they'll keep checking back. Others will also see you as friendly and engaging and join the conversation. Newbies will see your blog as a thriving community instead of "just" a blog. Besides, it's great to acknowledge the people who stop by.

You only get one shot at making a first impression. If you're not sure your blog is making a good impression, enlist a trusted friend or fellow blogger to stop by. Ask about his first impression. Sometimes a second eye does wonders.

Plan ahead for successful blogging

One of the reasons many blogs fail is because of poor planning. If you want a successful blog, you need a plan. Too many beginning bloggers see blogging as a quick way to make money online, but it's not. It takes time, creativity and lots of careful thought.

Your blog's topic

Do you already have a topic picked out? Think carefully about this. Before you decide to create one more blog about blogging, making money online, writing, working at home, or one of many other topics saturating the blogosphere, be sure you're offering something different. It's getting to the point where a lot of bloggers are just rehashing content, a sure way to keep readers away.

Research others in your niche

If you truly think you have a great idea, research your niche to see what else is out there.

Look at other popular blogs on the subject and think about how you can do it different and better. What are the other blogs missing? How can that particular community benefit from your blog?

Choose your platform

Do you know what platform to use? There are plenty of choices. Some of them are free, some of them require a subscription fee, most are good. If this is your first foray into the world of blogging, it's recommended you choose a platform that's beginner friendly. Both Blogger and Wordpress.com are great platforms for beginners.

Plan your design

Choose a design befitting your niche. There are plenty of free themes available for the different platforms or you or someone you hire can design a custom theme. Take care not to make it look too cluttered. Plan the design so the topics are easy to find and it's pleasing to the eye. If you're using advertising, leave room for them at eye level.

Research monetization methods

Are you planning to make money blogging? If so, you'll want to research the best monetization methods. Many new bloggers automatically assume Adsense is the only solution for them, and this couldn't be farther from the truth. Your blog can be a vessel to sell your own products and books, you can look into affiliate advertising or even sell your own ads. While Adsense works well for many, it's not the only game in town.

Schedule your time accordingly

How much time do you hope to put into blogging. If it's a few minutes each day, you're not cut out for it! Blogging is a big time commitment. In addition to posting one to several times daily, you're going to have to take some time each day to work on social networking and promotion.

Should you have your own domain?

Not all bloggers use their own domain, many use a subdomain belonging to their blog platform or other network. While this is fine for the beginning blogger, serious bloggers need to consider whether or not they'll want to blog on someone else's subdomain if they become popular. Not only is owning your own domain good SEO, but it'll also save you from having to move your blog later.

How will others find your blog?

Do you have a marketing or promotional strategy? Other people have to find your blog and for this you'll need a plan. Will you use social networking to bring others to your blog? Perhaps you're planning on doing some guest blogging or even want to take out a press release. If you want really decent daily traffic, the promotional efforts and pimping never stop.

These are just some of the considerations for anyone planning a blog. Taking the time to plot out your course of action can mean the difference between a very successful blog and one that doesn't even get out of the gate.

Top 9 Reasons to Start a Blog

While once considered a fad, it's clear blogging is here to stay. Do you live close by?If you are confused about all these Internet marketingstuffs, I may have something for you.In the past few months, I get people coming to me tellingthat they went to a few seminars and they are still notmaking the money they hoped. Some of them were frustrated, confused, excited but lost, not knowing where to start, etc.Well, I think I know how they feel...I've been to those seminars.

And most of them are no morethan just pitch fests. For 3 days, you sat there in the hallwatching and listening to speakers to go up on stage oneafter the other. And the speakers delivered a very good speech, telling youabout what's important when building an internet business, making you believe that they have what it takes to make itBIG on the Internet...But the truth is they were working on you, getting you intoa buying state. These speakers are professional salesman, some are professional hypnotist...

And at the end, they will pitch you with a package ofproducts, that is the supposed to be the silver bullet toyour online success. A package that is worth over $10,000,which you can get for only $1000 -- only during the next 30minutes.So you took out your wallet, and pulled out your credit cardand rushed to the back of the room to get the package. But when you got home, you have no idea what you bought.

You regretted your purchase. To a certain extent you feltcheated. And worse, you have no one to turn to... there's no support.Actually, for most people, they don't even have the basicsthey need to comprehend all the advanced materials in thepackage. The empty gap between what you know and what wasbeing taught is too huge. You just got excited seeing thosehuge income proofs. And with no one to turn to, you feel frustrated. You don'tknow what to do next. And you regreted your purchase at theseminar.

============================================================
I Have A Different Idea... Tell Me What You Think...
============================================================

I hate it when I don't know where to turn to for help. Ofcourse that rarely happen to my now days. Today, I have agroup of friends where we bounce ideas off each other. But I can remember when I was just starting out. I don'treally know what works, or how to make it work from here inMalaysia.Maybe I can offer a different experience for you. Now, instead of doing another seminar, why don't we do aweekly class.I will get a place, hook it up with Wi-Fi Internet and wecan start the class rolling.

All that you have to do isbring your laptop computer and we are all set.Instead of being confused not knowing what to do, I can giveyou homeworks and you can show me what you've done in thenext class the following week. With the little feeds of information you get, you have aweek to digest it, test what you've learn and get back to mewith your results. If you don't understand something, we'll discuss it on thenext week. If things didn't go as expected, you know I'll bearound. And my intention is to keep the class small. That way I cangive my personal attention to every student. And I can evenconsult you one-on-one on your project...Yes, I figured that everybody wants to do different thingson the Internet.

Most people have a rough idea of what tooffer and what to sell. But they just lack the knowlesdgeand the skills to do it online.Plus, there are just so many things that you can do online. You can blog, you can create a portal, you can sell info-products, you can sell physical products, you can create acommunity-site, you can promote affiliate programs, etc. That is why I think it's important to work on individualprojects. I want to look at what's best for you. I don'twant to just teach people how to make money online. Instead,I want to show people how to build a business.Think about it... It'll be like taking a part-time class inthe Open University. Sad to say, you will be spending a bombwith that, and you are still not building an income source.Of course, there's the public appreciation... pat on theback by your boss and colleagues. But a pay raise? Hardly.Even if you get some, how much?

Now, I am not against educating yourself, and going to backto college. I respect people to take actions to betteryourself. But I think you have a better option now...2007 is coming to an end. And 2008 is nearing. What I wantto do is create a solid passive income source for you.Imagine a better 2008. One with less financial struggles. That is possible... but we have to start working quick.I can't tell you details for my Interent weekend class justyet. I want to hear from you first, and know what you thinkabout it.If you are interested in this, please write back to me.

If Iget enough feedbacks, well... I may just do it. If I don't,maybe later.Of course, this is only for those who are geographicallynear to me. You may see that they address below is in NegeriSembilan, but I am physically in Kuala Lumpur. NS is just mybusiness registrations. So I will be doing this in Kuala Lumpur.Nights, week days, weekends... I don't know yet. Just writein and tell me which you prefer and maybe I can see what isbest for everybody.Alright, I'll be waiting for your reply... you can also callme. Just be sure it's between 10am to 4pm, week days.

Asbestos Lawsuits

Asbestos lawsuits are filed by plaintiffs who have suffered as the result of asbestos-related illness. Plaintiffs in asbestos lawsuits can include the victims of asbestos exposure, or their families or loved ones. Defendants against asbestos lawsuits are those parties considered responsible for the asbestos exposure. In the past, targets of asbestos lawsuits have included employers, asbestos manufacturers or installers, and landlords or leasing agents.
The purpose of asbestos lawsuits is to recover financial damages that result from asbestos related illness. Possible financial recoveries from asbestos lawsuits include the cost of medical bills, lost wages, and other associated costs. In some asbestos lawsuits, punitive damages (designed to punish the defendant) are also awarded. A few states permit asbestos lawsuits to be filed by people who reasonably expect to develop asbestos-related illnesses. These asbestos lawsuits regulations allow individuals exposed to asbestos to attempt to prepare financially for likely diseases. Many asbestos lawsuits have served to help publicize the adverse health effects of asbestos exposure; increasing numbers of asbestos lawsuits are decided for the plaintiffs as information about asbestos exposure becomes common knowledge.
Although asbestos lawsuits can be complicated at first glance, a number of individuals have benefited from asbestos lawsuits, including families of victims, left with enormous medical and funeral costs. For more about asbestos lawsuits and whether your situation is appropriate for this proceeding, an attorney familiar with asbestos lawsuits may be the appropriate person to consult.
Mesothelioma attorneys can help victims in recovering funds related to asbestos-caused mesothelioma. Many of the mesothelioma attorneys with experience in this field have successfully claimed costs from those responsible for asbestos exposure. Mesothelioma attorneys can regain medical costs, lost wages, and punitive fees for victims and their families.
A mesothelioma attorney can meet with victims to discuss liability in mesothelioma cases; using their prior experience, mesothelioma attorneys can often predict the likelihood of success of a particular case. A good mesothelioma attorney will have the legal knowledge and connections to pressure reluctant parties into accepting accountability; many mesothelioma attorneys end up enabling their client to collect without ever having to go to trial. Mesothelioma attorneys can also help put their clients in touch with the clients of other mesothelioma attorneys if both parties agree, so that the parties represented by both mesothelioma attorneys may exchange information and supportespecially important with such a rare disease.
If you or a loved one has suffered from mesothelioma, please Contact a Mesothelioma Attorney to learn more information on mesothelioma and your legal rights!

libby montana asbestos

Set in the northwest corner of Montana, 35 miles east of Idaho and 65 miles south of Canada, is the small town of Libby. The community's assets include clean water, beautiful scenery, and recreational opportunities such as fishing, hiking, hunting, boating and skiing.
EPA has been working in Libby since 1999 when an Emergency Response Team was sent to investigate local concern and news articles about asbestos-contaminated vermiculite. Keep your arms slightly away from your body. Clasp your hands out in front of you or bring your arms to your sides and a bit forward, raising them about 6 inches in a flexible, relaxed fashion. This will allow your ribcage to fully expand and your lungs to fill to capacity. More air allows you to project your voice more strongly and clearly.

2. Keep your feet about shoulders' width apart. If you like, one foot can be further forward than the other. Make sure you're solidly balanced, but still flexible. Slightly bend your knees. If you must sing while sitting, make sure both feet are flat on the floor and that you're sitting up straight, but not stiffly.

3. Relax! Tension destroys vocal tone. Try not to let your shoulders hunch up and keep your neck from tensing. Don't force your chest out and up when you breath in. This will actually constrict your air flow. Stay in motion, however slightly. This will relax your body and your tone will sound more natural. Try gently swaying from side to side with the rhythm. You'll look better, too!

4. When you inhale, push your stomach out. This will allow you to more completely fill your lungs. As you exhale, bring your stomach slowly in, using the muscles of your diaphram (which is just under your ribcage) to control your notes.

5. If you have to hit a high note or you hear yourself singing flat (that is, your notes are a tiny bit too low), raise your arms a little higher and smile slightly. For very high notes, try closing your eyes and turning your face up slightly.

6. Conversely, if you start to sing sharp (a tiny bit too high), bring your arms down a little lower and open your mouth slightly wider by dropping your lower jaw. Don't dip your chin towards your neck, however, as this will cause your air flow to become constricted, which will show up in your voice.

7. Enjoy yourself! If you take all these tips to heart, singing could become a habit. :)

2 Things About Photoshop You Have to Know

Layer Sets
These are a way of organising or categorising common or linked layers in the layers panel. To create a new layer set, expand the Layer menu and select New -> Layer set. The new layer set dialogue box will appear and prompt you to enter a name for the new set. Once you have OK’d this box, a folder icon will appear in the layers panel; just drag and drop related layers into this folder. This is useful to organise your working environment and to apply styles across ranges of layers. This functionality extends to slices in Imageready.

The Slice Tool

Residing in the toolbox that appears to the far left of your workspace, and denoted by the knife icon, the slice tool is essential for creating clickable rectangular regions of your image. It is powered by Photoshop’s sister product Imageready (which comes bundled with the latest release of Photoshop), and needs to be used in Imageready to make the most of its potential. Nevertheless, Photoshop lets you add actions when the region is rolled over or clicked, and can be extremely useful in the creation of roll-over image-swaps or expanding menus on image-driven web sites. To create a slice, select the slice tool and drag a rectangle across the appropriate part of your image. That’s it. You can right-click the slice and select Edit Slice Options… to add URL, ALT and other information to the slice. Slicing an image also decreases page load times; a couple of slices download quicker than one large image.

How to bid At Auction

Step One
Get a catalog from the auction house that lists items available at the auction. Registration usually requires at least one form of identification and a credit card or bank reference.

How to Sleep Comfortably on a Hot night

1. Plug in your fan and turn it towards you. Purchase a commercial bag of ice cubes. Empty the entire bag into a wide, shallow container (to contain the water as the ice melts) such as a roasting pan. Place the container of ice right in front of the fan (between the fan and you), at the level of the top of the bed. The ice-cooled air will be noticeably cooler than the room air for the amount of time it takes for the ice to melt -- which is as long as it should take for you to fall asleep!

2. Try the towel method. Hang a wet towel from two chairs to hold the ice. The melting ice will wet and chill the towel and the fan will blow that cold air on you. Place a container under the towel to catch the melting ice water. You can use a thread to connect the bottom of the towel with the container to avoid the annoying dripping sound.

3. A cool shower will do wonders. Take a cool shower, bath, or wipe your body down with a cool wash cloth. Without fully drying yourself, hop into bed, and let the air slowly dry you. This will keep you cool for a long time, allowing you to fall asleep. If a shower or bath is not an option, splash cool water on your head, and soak your hands and feet in cool water if possible. Your head, hands and feet are your "radiators" and you'll feel cooler faster by focusing on those areas. Note that this method is temporary, and more psychologically sound than physiologically accurate, as a cold shower will close your body's pores, which in the long run will heat your body. Lots of people develop rashes due to heat. Apply talcum powder all over the body after shower to keep body cool and to avoid rashes. There are some special talcum powders available such as shower to shower.

4. Consider using the "Egyptian Method": wet a sheet or bath towel that is large enough to cover you with cool or cold water, and wring it or run it through the spin cycle on a washing machine until the sheet is quite damp but not dripping wet. Place the dry towel or sheet on your bed underneath your body and use the wet sheet as your blanket. The damp blanket will keep you cool. Or, during an extreme heat wave, take a light t-shirt, wet it, wring it out and wear it. Evaporation from the shirt will help to keep you cool enough to sleep for a few hours. This is a very simple and environmentally friendly method of staying cool.

5. Take a pair of cotton socks, rinse them in cold water, wring them until they are damp and put them on. Cooling your feet lowers the overall temperature of your skin and body.

6. Sleep in a 'spread eagle' position, and think cool thoughts.

7. Try buckwheat pillows or futons. These don't retain body heat and feel cool all night long.

8. Get a few blocks of "blue ice," normally sold in supermarkets. This is a rectangular plastic block containing a non-toxic chemical that freezes at lower temperatures than ice, and stays cold longer. If possible, get the larger blocks. Freeze them in the freezer during the day and take them to bed with you at night. They don't get damp when they melt -- the chemical stays inside. Put each block inside a sock or something, so it won't feel so cold, and it will melt more slowly. If you feel warm, put a hand or foot on a block, or curl up next to a few. You'll soon feel cooler.

9. On really, really hot nights, or days, lie in a bathtub of cool water until you actually feel rather chilly. You'll feel cooler for an hour or more after you get out.

10. Get out of bed and splash cold water on your face (and body if you want). Then wait for a few minutes for the water to evaporate on its own. When you go back to bed you will find your bed seems much cooler and more comfortable because the body heat trapped in the mattress and/or pillow will have dissipated by the time you return to bed.

How to Obtain Cycling Strength

Strength is built up through exercise. Those who spend time walking, hiking, jogging, skating, cross-country skiing, or playing any sport that requires constant running should have a good base to build on. Nonetheless, muscles will have to adapt to very different strength and energy requirements, and the legs will have to learn new behavior.

For short periods of time, while sprinting through an intersection or climbing a short, steep hill, the legs will be burning energy at a furious pace, while the lungs won't have even had enough time to start breathing hard. At the beginning of the sprint and at the crest of the hill, the legs will be moving slowly, applying great pressure to the pedals, while near the end of the sprint and at the bottom of the hill, the legs will be spinning rapidly, applying much less force to the pedals but just as much energy. Spinning is a whole new ballgame and might be said to mark the difference between a bike rider and a cyclist. It's a light and rapid application of power that results in less fatigue, once the cyclist adapts to it. A coach told me that more than 20 reps in one session of weight-lifting was not a good idea as it was too much strain on the muscles; I told him that, on a bicycle, I was used to as high as 50,000 reps in one day.

Adapting to long-distance riding takes even more changes, as the body has to learn how to conserve and expend its energy wisely. Those who have not been active in an aerobic sport that uses the legs will need to build up more slowly because the body is going to have to make even greater changes. The body has the amazing ability to transform itself, but the process takes time. Those who are overweight are going to require even more time and some caution. And those with heart trouble are going to have to be especially watchful.

A simple way in which to build up is to ride some distance that is comfortable but not too far at a speed that is fast but not too hard. Breathing so hard that talking is impossible or having to stop and gasp for breath are both signs that the exercise was too difficult. On the other hand, never having to breathe hard is a sign that the exercise is too light, at least after the first couple of weeks. It's necessary to put some effort into cycling, but never so much that it becomes a strain or painful.

The daily distance should be increased on a weekly basis, but by no more than half. Ten miles per day is a good target for those interested in health alone. It will take some people a long time to build up to ten miles a day, while others will find themselves able to ride ten miles on the very first day. For weight reduction, fifteen miles a day or more would be recommended (recent studies found that those losing weight burned 2,800 kCal in exercise each week). Those interested in long rides or a bicycle trip should gradually increase the weekend distances while trying to ride ten miles or more daily during the week.

Cycling nearly every day is important physically and psychologically, but don't worry about missing a few days, either on a regular basis or due to bad weather or an illness. To help with finding time to ride, cycling can be used to travel to work or to run errands. If cycling is not possible for long periods due to the weather, walking or other exercises should be substituted.

How to write

How to write
Style is not something I can prescribe in a set of notes like this. Write well: if you have any problems in this direction, it is for your tutor to tell you about them. But here are a few random points instead.

Register
This is what linguists call a style appropriate to the occasion. Be aware: a certain scholarly gravity is called for. Not too heavy so that it's uninteresting. But avoid colloquial abbreviations: should not, not shouldn't. Jokes are hazardous: if they don't [do not follow my practice as regards don't] work, they can cost you a lot. Avoid them, on the whole: or at least don't be jokey. Don't for goodness sake imitate the way I'm writing here, either the rather flippant colloquial style or the somewhat overbearing tone, or the numbered subheadings. This is an essay on how to write a literary essay, not a literary essay.

Quotations
Firstly, quote sufficiently but not too copiously. Not more than a third of any page at the very outside, and usually just a few lines at a time. It's your thought, not the quotation, that is the point. On the other hand, never forget that your ideas should be tied firmly into the text, and that you should demonstrate this by quotation. Secondly, always give page numbers for your quotations: you will need to know where to find them again.

Short paragraphs
No short paragraphs.

Length
The department has clear rules about length of assessed and non-assessed essays. A first year non-assessed essay should be 1500-2000 words long.

Copy it
Always keep a copy of any essay you hand in. Academics are very unreliable, and not uncommonly lose essays.

Warning When You Start Blogging

Avoid posting anything on your blog that might be personal to other people if just anyone can read your blog (example: Your uncle might object that it's published on the Internet that he is an alcoholic). If something is personal, avoid using last names at the very least, or make up a name for that person. Be wary of unwarranted attention. Blogs are for the world to read. If you want a private blog just for friends, use Xanga or any other password-protected blogging site.

Xanga and MySpace are good for beginners, but for more public blogs, sites like Typepad and Blogger are much more "respected".

Be wary of unwarranted attention. Blog stalking is common; don't give out too much personal information such as name, location, school, etc.

Read the small print. If you don't, your blog's content may be "owned" by the company that puts it on the web for you.

Don't make your blogs like MySpace bulletins (adding random posts to suck in friends) and don't include your friend's name or websites in them either.

Source: http://www.wikihow.com/Start-a-Blog

Tips How to start blogging

If you update your blog frequently, more people will return on a regular basis to read it. Establishing a reader base will motivate you to write more and in turn more people will read your posts.

Get into a routine of blogging. Make it part of your day. Soon, you will notice things during your day and think, "Hey, I'll blog this."

Personalize your blog. A pretty blog always catches the eye. Visit blogger.com for ideas; they have a list of their 10 most recently updated blogs.

You could Google for "blog California" or "blog Shakespeareans" (or anything else), depending on location, interests, etc. For instance, if you have a blog on lawns, you may want visit allaboutlawns.com's forum and other similar type blogs. Circles of interest are the essence of blogging, and it can start to develop you as an authority in the "blog-o-sphere" on lawns or whatever area of interest you choose.

Keep the posts interesting. Try to avoid focusing on things that most readers won't find worthwhile (such as "I went to the mall today and saw Kelly.") Write about things you noticed, thoughts you had, and feelings or ideas. Blog about a recent trip to Spain. Write about the chemical explosion during class.

Spell check your writing before posting.

Some sites allow you to make money off your blog by using an Amazon Associates ID or by placing Google AdSense advertisements. If popular enough, your blog could start to pay your bills.

Don't feel bogged down if no one visits your site for the first few months. As with communities this large, it will take some time for your blog to get noticed.

If you want a broad (international) readership, do not use too many abbreviations or slang terms that might not be easily understood by people who are not from your country/area.

Get interesting news from Yahoo Oddly Enough..., other Yahoo stories, Crayon.net and other websites that you frequently read.

Blog on a specific subject. You can't please everyone, so target a specific audience and go with it.
See also How to Write a Famous Blog

How to Start a Blog

A "blog", abbreviated word for weblog, is a web-based journal in which people can publish their thoughts and opinions on the Internet. Anyone can start a blog. It's straight-forward and, in a lot of cases, free.

Find a decent blogging provider that appeals to you. Some may include MuseCrafters.com, Livejournal.com, JournalHome.com, Blogger.com, WordPress.com, TheDiary.org, Mindsay.com, Blog.com, Diaryland.com, Blogdrive.com, or Xanga.com. Most of these sites are pre-made with templates and push-button publishing that don't require much technical know-how.

Once you sign up, you'll have a gallery of ready-made templates to choose from. Select one and personalize it. Add your name, interests, images, etc.

Add blogging freebies like buttons, images, blog chalks, imoods, tagboards (for example, myshoutbox.com), guest maps, guestbooks, comment boxes for readers' input, etc.

Explore other blog sites that offer more features for a small fee, such as Typepad.com.

Decide on whether or not you want your blog to be private or personal: do you want any Internet visitor to be able to read your blog, or do you just want your friends and family to be able to read it? Most blog sites offer the ability to password-protect your published posts so only those who you approve of can view what you've written.

Decide on how you want your blog to look. You can pick a color scheme and layout. Most sites come with a set of predefined layouts and schemes that you can choose from, or you can edit your own.

After you've set up your blog, write a few posts to test it out, and make any adjustments to the layout or style that you see fit. At first, it will seem tough to figure out what to write, but once you get into a routine of daily blogging, you will find it addictive. Write about your day, your thoughts, events, ideas, fears, pleasures, the news, current affairs, art, or anything you are interested in!

Visit other blogs to build a blogging circle. When you leave comments, add your blogging address so they can visit you too.

If you want to make your blog look more attractive, there are some sites up that have many "skins" that might make it look better. One example is blogskins.com, which also comes with Photoshop and HTML tutorials.
Publish your blog by sending the URL to your friends or publish the URL on your website. Add the URL to posts you make on other blogs.
